The 19-year-old Mexican driver made his debut in the Camping World Trucks Series, one of the three main categories of NASCAR EU, a commitment that he carried out, with the benefit of experience, in Charlotte, North Carolina.
With the number 37 Chevrolet, of the AM Racing/Rette Jones Racing team, last Friday, May 27, with only 11 practice laps, Max Gutiérrez qualified among 35 trucks and managed to finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway, in the 1.5 oval miles (2.41 kilometers), in the twenty-sixth position, in a race of 140 laps initially scheduled and with three stages, where NASCAR Cup and NASCAR Xfinity drivers competed, including Ross Chastain (Daniel Suárez’s teammate at Track House Racing) , who won the famous, fast and demanding North American track, in extra time, with 143 laps in total.
Max Gutiérrez was sponsored by TOUGHBUILT, BOLSADX, TEKNEKK, TELMEX, TELCEL, GO GIG and GOODRIDGE.
“It was a great experience racing in Charlotte. It was my first race in one of NASCAR’s top divisions (the others are NASCAR CUP and NASCAR Xfinity). At first I felt the pressure, but little by little I adapted better to the track and to the truck. I am enormously grateful for the support of my sponsors. I would have liked a better result, but I think that even so we met the objectives”
