The Mexican driver Max Gutiérrez was seventh in the first practice at the Daytona International Speedway, held this Thursday, February 17, among 35 drivers (most of them experienced), with a view to the first race of the 2022 season of the national ARCA Series, which will be run prior to the NASCAR Xfinity Series, on Saturday the 19th, preceding the NASCAR Cup Daytona 500, premier category, on Sunday the 20th, now with his New Generation (Nex Gen) car, in what will be his 64th edition.
Max Gutiérrez has just climbed to the podium in third place in New Smyrna, Florida, on Tuesday the 14th of this month, at ARCA East, at the start of activities this 2022, trying to repeat the feat of first place in 2021, since only four days goes by the feat as a rookie at Daytona in national ARCA.
In addition to the aforementioned ARCA East Series race in New Smyrna, Max Gutiérrez will participate in six ARCA Series dates and four NASCAR Camping World Truck Series dates in the United States, in addition to all 12 NASCAR Mexico Series races in 2022, with the support from TOUGHBUILT, TELCEL, SEARS, CLARO, BOLSA DX and TEKNEKK.
This Friday the 18th he will qualify to make up the starting grid on Saturday the 19th at 1:30 p.m. (Eastern time), the start of the race.
Max Gutiérrez drives the Chevrolet number 32 in national ARCA and the challenge is to cover 80 laps of the 2.5-mile trioval, for a total of 200 miles, in this famous superspeedway, opened in 1959 and has a capacity of 101,500 people, considered the World Center of Racing, and that the weekend will be at 100 percent capacity.
Max Gutiérrez, 19, represents Mexico and is part of the Gutiérrez Brothers (G BROS.), an ambitious project directed by José Sabates to promote young talents to the top of NASCAR EU.
His brother, Federico Fico Gutiérrez, 16 years old, who already debuted in the Pro Late Model Series at the end of last year, will participate in five races in that category in the US, in addition to the 12 corresponding to the NASCAR Mexico Series.
