The 19-year-old young driver from the Escudería Telmex Telcel races at noon this Saturday, April 23, at the Talladega Speedway, in Alabama, in the national ARCA Series (Automobile Racing Club of America) category, in what will be his third race this year in the United States, on his way to the top of NASCAR.
In 2022 he participated in New Smyrna, Florida, where he starred in a race on the first date of the ARCA Series East season, finishing third (a fact that made it impossible for him to endorse the victory in 2021 in the same place).
Later he faced the challenge of the Daytona International Speedway, but with bad luck on the track, due to an electrical failure, being one of the fastest in practice.
This weekend he faces the great challenge of one of the most iconic ovals in NASCAR (The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, Inc), the Talladega Speedway.
This after being in International Business classes at the Anáhuac University in Mexico City on Thursday morning and traveling to Alabama in the afternoon, to get in the car on Friday and run on Saturday at 1 p.m. This one, in a race that will not have qualifications (which will start according to the championship status of the teams).
Max Gutiérrez will drive the number 32 Ford, in the combined AM/Rette Jones Racing team, in the race called General Tire 200, scheduled for 76 laps, the third date of a total of 20 national ARCA Series.
The Talladega trioval has a capacity of 175,000 fans in stands, and is characterized by being 2.66 miles (4,280 meters) long, and banking 33 degrees around; and it can accommodate four or five drivers in parallel, because the pit lane is a few meters from the finish line, making a generous width on its asphalt. The Talladega Super Oval is home to all NASCAR series, including the ARCA Series.
